FESTIVAL

In the weekend of 4 and 5 September 2009, the CASZuidas Urban Screen Festival was
held on the Zuidplein, including special productions, an artists-in-focus programme, various guest programmes, a symposium and an international competition, for which 150 artists from 31 countries submitted work. The jury, headed up by SKOR director Fulya Erdemci, awarded the first prize of € 5000 to two works: the enchanting ‘Shelf’ by the British artist duo John Wood and Paul Harrison, and the engaged ‘as if to nothing’ by the German artist Andreas Templin. The photo shows ‘A letter from Boka’. Boka is an artist from Hong Kong. The festival was organized in order to demonstrate and explore the possibilities of art on an urban screen.
