On 2 December 2009, Councilman Maarten van Poelgeest switched on the light artwork by artist Giny Vos with a festive bang in the recently heightened telecommunications tower next to the A10. ‘White Noise, The Handwriting of the Universe’ is the name of the starry LED sky that permanently lights up the evening hours. The work represents a dynamic universe in which the intensity of the light of planets and stars oscillates, sometimes even disappearing. Every now and again a code flashes by, as a sign of personal and contemporary communication. The broadcasting mast was designed by Christof Schwencke (AGS Schwencke Rosbach Architects). The light artwork is a collaborative effort of KPN, Zuidas Amsterdam and Virtual Museum Zuidas.
